Meet Dr. Pavelka

Dr. Pavelka limits his scope of practice to surgery of the oral cavity, face, head and neck.  He  specializes in procedures such as wisdom tooth extraction, dental implants, bone grafting, head and neck pathology, trauma and facial reconstructive surgery, and facial cosmetic procedures.
 
Dr. Pavelka grew up in Pilot Point, Texas on a cutting horse farm.  He completed his undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science in 1993.  He then went to dental school at Baylor College of Dentistry and obtained his DDS in 1998.  He completed Medical School at Texas Tech School of Medicine in Lubbock in 2001 and obtained his MD.  He then completed a one year general surgery internship at Methodist Medical Center Dallas.  His residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was completed in 2004 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.  Dr. Pavelka obtained his board certification with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2006.  
 
Dr. Pavelka entered private practice in Richardson, Texas in 2004, then moved his practice location to his current office in Plano, Texas in 2008.
 
Dr. Pavelka has hospital privileges at Presbyterian Hospital of Plano,  Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano, The Medical Center of Plano and Surgery Center of Plano.  He is a member of the Dallas County Dental Society, American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, Texas Society of Oral  & Maxillofacial Surgeons, Southwest Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association,  and the North Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.  He is currently the Executive Director of the North Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and has held various positions for that organization.
